Michael Widderick is a senior research scientist with the Queensland government. Based in Toowoomba on the Darling Downs, Michael's research is aimed at improving weed management in broad-acre cropping systems. Michael is an advocate for integrated weed management and promotes this approach widely across the northern grain growing region. Currently, Michael is contributing to the development of strategies for management of fleabane (Conyza spp.) and for prevention and management of herbicide resistance.
Michael is a long-standing member of the Weed Society of Queensland and currently serves as secretary.
